Skyrim Glitch

Okay, so, I wanted to start a new Skyrim game, so I could create a new character. So I did… problem was, before I even got to the create part, the horse and cart that was taking me to Helgan decided it was going to go climb the rocky hills and take 10 minutes getting to Helgan. When I get there, NOTHING HAPPENS!!!!! I have tried restarting and everything, but nothing seems to fix it. I’ve tried searching for patches for this glitch but no one seems to have this problem…. Does anyone know what’s going on???
